My name is Anshuman Gupta I am Corporate lawyer by profession. In the year 2020, I had the 1st bound of Covid which resulted in frail health and then a rebound the year after in 2022 with the second round of Covid and my health condition deteriorated further.
After surviving two Covid I started to gain severe weight especially since I was working from home as a Corporate legal person.
I started gaining weight and also had severe backache due to long work hours, which made me go to the doctor and was advised to look into my health.
That was the time that I made a determination for myself that I will transform my health. I initially started with only doing a few 1-2 km runs which made me realise how tough running was, but I didn’t lose hope as I was encouraged by my friends in the running community.
After completing a few 5K runs and 10k running events. I finally enrolled myself for the Delhi half marathon in 2023, and did a few half marathons including Tata Steel Kolkata 25k, Tata Mumbai Half Marathon including getting my best timing 2hr 4 mins at the prestigious New Delhi Marathon in Feb 2024.
Beginning this year 2024 I thought of doing the World’s Highest Marathon, which is the Ladakh Half marathon , as I was preparing for the Ladakh Half marathon with three months to go, I had a severe accident on the Golf Course road, Gurgaon which resulted in a brain contusion. Due to the accident, I had to be bedridden as I had a loss of smell and head injury. After being better ridden for the next one month, I slowly started to recoup and did my slow practice runs and started focusing on Strength Training and Nutrition, and then in September completed my First Maiden Ladakh half marathon, which is the World’s highest marathon in 2hr and 30 mins. This gave me the confidence to transform my inner self that I can Do It.
This year in October, I also completed my second Delhi half marathon where I shaved off 17 minutes from my last year target.
Now I am aiming to complete my first full marathon in the coming year at Tata Mumbai Marathon and New Delhi Marathon and look forward to doing more challenging endurance runs to prove that Nothing is impossible. Today I have transformed myself, both mentally and physically. I have reduced from being overweight to a physically fit person. My BMI index and Vo2 to max have exceeded the excellent scores and I am fitter personally . I have learnt a lot about consistency and determination and I hope to inspire more people through my Running journey.
Thank you.
Since the past 1.5 yrs i have run a distance 2,913.5 kms. This year alone I have run 1711.5 kms which is 42% up from last year.
