My journey as a runner began in 2017 with my participation in the Pinkathon Delhi. Fascinated by those who could run long distances, I decided to give it a try. Without any prior practice, I completed my first 10K in 59 minutes and 11 seconds—a feat that ignited a lifelong passion for running.
The turning point came when a dear friend registered me for the IDBI Federal Delhi Half Marathon on February 24, 2018. Unfortunately, this was a difficult time as my mother fell critically ill and passed away. Despite my grief and zero preparation, I decided to honor her memory by running. I completed my first Half Marathon in 2 hours, 29 minutes, and 39 seconds. While I was proud of finishing, the lack of training led to injuries—shin splints and immobility that took weeks to heal.
Back then, I knew little about warm-ups, cool-downs, or proper running techniques. My early runs were a trial-and-error learning process, but I kept moving forward, participating in various events across India. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I sought guidance from coach Ishaan Sharma, who introduced me to the intricacies of running marathons. This short but invaluable mentorship improved my understanding and approach to running, fueling my passion further.
Since then, I have participated in countless Half Marathons and 10K events, achieving notable results in prestigious races, including:
– Vedanta Pinkcity Half Marathon, Jaipur (2022, 2023)
– Army Veterans Honor Run (2023, 2024)
– Ladakh Marathon 10th Edition (2023 – Top 10)
– Satara Hill Half Marathon, Maharashtra (2022)
– Nainital Trail Ultra 10K (2021)
– Faridabad Half Marathon, 1st Edition (2024)
– Kashmir Marathon (2024)
– Mount Abu HM (2024)
– Rishikesh Ganga Sustainability Run (2024)
My personal best timings are a proud 1:50:09 in the Half Marathon and 51 minutes in the 10K.
In recent years, I’ve taken up pacing to help aspiring runners achieve their personal goals. I’ve served as a pacer in multiple renowned events, including:
– AU Jaipur Marathon (2024)
– Tuffman Delhi HM (2024)
– Tuffman Gurugram HM (2024)
– Vedanta Zinc City HM (2024)
– Noida Monsoon Run (2024)
– Delhi Stride HM (2024)
I’ve also represented several events as an ambassador and influencer, spreading the message of health and fitness.
My vision is to inspire people of all ages to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle. As Martin Luther King Jr. famously said: “If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep moving.” This quote epitomizes my motto.
I am eternally grateful to my husband, whose unwavering support has been my greatest strength, and to the almighty for the blessings that have allowed me to pursue my passion.
My journey is far from over—I aim to keep running, pacing, and learning, while motivating others to embark on their own fitness journeys. A heartfelt thank you to the Indian Running Club for reaching out and acknowledging my efforts.
